Steve Lornie, Proprietor
You’ve heard the expression “born with a silver spoon in his mouth.” Steve was born with a couple of nails clenched between his teeth, a hammer in his hand and a carpenter’s belt around his waist. But who can complain when this talent for building has spanned a 38-year career in the construction and development industry. Steve owns and operates Stonecroft Construction Management and completed The Outback in Vernon, the Shore Club restaurant in Vancouver and several projects for UBC Properties Trust before turning his attention to the wine industry.
“Have nail-gun, will travel,” as they say, and Steve has been bitten by the wine bug by association with the group that hangs around the kitchen with wife, Christine. An “ah-ha” moment for Steve was when he first proclaimed a wine “corked” and was right.
Riding his wine wave, the Stonecroft team built a new hospitality centre and barrel room at Road 13 Vineyards, and as our own in-house building guru, he has overseen the design and construction of the Okanagan Crush Pad winery facility, keeping true to his “less is more” style. We hope you will agree the facility is amazing. |
