Michael Bartier, Winemaker

A seasoned and respected winemaker born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, Michael has earned a deserved reputation for quality wine production. His experience includes making wine at Hawthorne Mountain (See Ya Later Ranch), Township 7, Stag’s Hollow and most recently Road 13 Vineyards. He is an integral part of the team at Okanagan Crush Pad as winemaker, and is the main man behind crafting the Haywire wines. Michael’s winemaking style is driven by his belief that wine is meant to be enjoyed with food: a strategy that seems to be working. Off work, Michael can be found hiking, biking, running, skiing, climbing, or any other grueling physical activity one could think of. He is an avid Canadiens fan, a connoisseur of craft beer, and a lover of big slabs of BBQ’d meat. Did we mention he roasts his own coffee? When you combine all this talent with the ability to make killer wines – what’s not to love? Michael lives in Penticton with his wife Jodi and their son. The family is a fixture at Apex Mountain year round – where Michael finds a great outlet for his need for exercise.
