Alison Scholefield, Winery Operations
Alison Scholefield, through parental association, has been involved in the wine industry since birth. As the daughter of two wine industry professionals, Alison, who has known how to identify wine scents from a young age, worked in the Coletta & Associates office part-time as she completed university. Alison also spent two seasons working in the Okanagan: one at Sumac Ridge Estate Winery in the Cellar Door Bistro and another toiling in her family’s Switchback Vineyard, home to the Haywire Pinot Gris. Now, with her university degree in history and French under her belt, Alison is the air traffic controller for Haywire’s inventory. Alison’s patience and sunny disposition make her a natural to “man” the phone lines as the main contact for our trade customers and the public who are interested in purchasing our wines.
When away from her desk in North Vancouver, Alison can likely be found babysitting winery dog Echo, absorbing Vancouver's culture, bird-watching, or taking in a hockey game. In the Okanagan she can be found riding the golf cart in the vineyard (one step ahead of the work crew), chilling at the family place at North Beach, or water-skiing. |
